El peón rural Sixto Garcés, de 50 años, la única persona que permanecía desaparecida en el marco de los incendios registrados en la zona cordillerana de Chubut, fue encontrado muerto anoche junto a su caballo y su perro en cercanías de la estancia donde cumplía las funciones de puestero.
Según confirmó en diálogo con Télam el jefe de la policía del Chubut, el comisario general Miguel Gómez, “el hallazgo se produjo cerca del casco de estancia que queda a unos 15 kilómetros de la localidad de El Maitén (noroeste del Chubut) según nos informó la Unidad Regional de la policía que intervino”.
Los policías tenían la esperanza de encontrar a Garcés en algún campo cercano, tras haber certificado que se había ausentado montado a caballo, con ropa y enceres, y acompañado por el perro.
”Todos aparecieron calcinados”, explicó Gómez y afirmó que se estima que el poblador se desorientó totalmente en medio del humo.
Los bomberos consultados por Télam explicaron que “fue tal el humo reinante por el fuego y la lluvia que cayó que se hizo de noche en plena tarde, y, por eso, estimamos que el hombre se desorientó, amén de las condiciones del ambiente que era irrespirable”.
