Agendas for G20 leaders, partners, sherpas and finance ministers
Buenos Aires city is hosting several official G20 meetings next week ahead of the main event, the Leaders’ Summit, the first of its kind in South America. These include meetings of the G20 Finance and Sherpa tracks, and the Partners’ Programme.
Activities in Buenos Aires start on Monday with a meeting of finance deputies, and a meeting of sherpas, both at the Buenos Aires Exhibition & Convention Centre (CEC). Finance deputies will discuss the main issues related to finance that will be brought up at the Summit, while the sherpas will work to consolidate progress on anti-corruption, education, employment, climate sustainability and energy transitions, among many others. After two days of internal discussions, both tracks will hold a joint meeting on Wednesday morning.
On Thursday evening, finance ministers will take part in a working dinner to wrap up the annual work programme of the Finance track, a programme that included two ministerial meetings in Buenos Aires, another ministerial in Washington and a fourth in Bali.
On Friday morning, they will visit Villa Ocampo, the former residence of Victoria Ocampo, one of Argentina’s leading cultural figures. In the evening, they will join the leaders at the Colón Theatre
The Leaders’ Summit will begin on Friday at 10.30 am local time with the leaders’ arrival to Costa Salguero. At 12.30 pm, after the official welcome and the traditional family photo, Argentine President Mauricio Macri will give opening remarks at the plenary session, which will be streamed live on the G20 YouTube channel. Once the working sessions are over, leaders and their partners will participate in a cultural event at the iconic Colón Theatre.
The leaders’ agenda continues on Saturday with working sessions in the morning. At 2.45 pm local time, once the closed-door sessions have finished, Macri will give a press conference to brief on the Summit’s main conclusions. Afterwards, other heads of State and Government may give their own press conferences. All press conferences will be streamed live on the G20 YouTube channel.
Partners’ Programme

On Friday morning, they will visit Villa Ocampo, the former residence of Victoria Ocampo, one of Argentina’s leading cultural figures. In the evening, they will join the leaders at the Colón Theatre.
On Saturday, they visit the Buenos Aires Museum of Latin American Art (MALBA), where they will attend a talk on Argentina’s initiatives on early childhood.
