Proponen un ferry para unir Santa Cruz con Río Grande
La posibilidad de crear un servicio de ferry que conecte de manera directa las provincias de Santa Cruz y Tierra del Fuego, evitando el cruce actual que se realiza a través de territorio chileno, motivó una llamativa reunión ayer en el Congreso. El ministro de Transporte de la Nación, Mario Meoni, se encontró en el despacho del titular de la Cámara de Diputados, Sergio Massa, con el gobernador de Tierra del Fuego, Gustavo Melella; el jefe del bloque del Frente de Todos, Máximo Kirchner; y la diputada fueguina Mabel Caparrós.
Desde Transporte indicaron que la reunión fue en el Congreso porque para poder establecer una nueva conexión entre provincias se necesita sancionar una ley específica. "Estamos trabajando muy activamente para tener un proyecto que nos permita tener una conexión entre nuestras provincias y así ganar la soberanía que merecemos, que además tiene un impacto en la economía de la región muy importante porque bajaríamos notoriamente los costos de transporte y traslados", señaló al respecto Meoni.
El ferry, agregó el ministerio a través de un comunicado, conectaría Puerto San Julián con Río Grande. A comienzos de febrero, Melella le planteó otras prioridades a Meoni: el puerto turístico de Ushuaia y el Polo Logístico Antártico.
