In Plain Sight, un policial distinto

Posiblemente no haya división, departamento o especialización de las fuerzas del orden norteamericanas que no tenga o haya tenido su propia ficción televisiva. De los forenses a las secciones de homicidios, todos parecen tener suficientes historias para contar, tantas que la mayoría de las series dramáticas de la TV ocurren entre una comisaría, una morgue o en una persecución callejera. Claro que en el verdadero malón de policiales de ficción, In Plain Sight se destaca del resto. La serie que esta noche -a las 22, por AXN- estrena su cuarta temporada logra combinar los entretenidos casos de la comisaría encargada del programa de protección de testigos con la vida personal de su mejor agente, que resulta ser una mujer tan neurótica como sensible. Aunque haga enormes esfuerzos para ocultarlo, Mary (interpretada por la muy buena actriz Mary McCormack), se conmueve con cada uno de los casos a su cargo, que capítulo tras capítulo reflejan algo de su propia historia familiar.
Un padre delincuente y ausente; una madre alcohólica y una hermana que parece atraer los problemas complican la vida de la agente, que es conocida tanto por su eficiencia como por sus malos modales, algo que hace desesperar a su compañero de trabajo y mejor amigo, Marshall, tal vez uno de los mejores personajes masculinos del policial televisivo actual. Un intelectual destinado a velar por y enamorarse de la bestia de Mary, más impulso que reflexión, mujer de armas tomar y malos atrapar.
