Antes de la edición de su próximo disco, Ashes & Fire, el tipo grabó una versión acústica de su temazo de Cold Roses y una versión de Iron Maiden

Ah, Cold Roses. Discos que tienen esa capacidad de convertirse en clásicos de todos los tiempos sin haber transitado siquiera una década en la historia de la música mundial. Cada uno podrá elegir los títulos de su colección personal que consideren portadores de esta característica. Cold Roses de Ryan Adams podría ser uno; o no, no importa. Ese compilado de canciones countryrockeras, en una de las voces más especiales de los cantautores contemporáneos, no puede sino generar ganas de volver y volver a ser escuchado.
Y, a pesar de que ya habíamos hablado de su obra (hicimos foco en su valentía al indagar en el death metal como Werewolph y el hard rock como Sleazy Handshake, por ejemplo, ante la perspectiva de la edición del pesado Orion), lo que nos reúne nuevamente es esta versión acústica de "Let It Ride" (incluido en aquel disco). Registrada durante las sesiones en Pax-Am Records, su sello, en las que adelantó su nuevo disco o el regreso absoluto a las raíces, el cover de su propio tema funciona como excusa y preparación para lo que vendrá. Ashes & Fire será editado el 10 de octubre: además del track que le da nombre (también en plan acústico), entregó tres, "Invisible Riverside","Dirty Rain" y "Lucky Now" Vamos a esperar a la obra acabada para tener una impresión certera; ahora, regresamos al clásico. De paso, les dejo su cover de "Wasted Years" de Iron Maiden...
