Murió Jean-Pierre Marielle, gran figura del cine francés
A los 87 años murió tras una larga enfermedad Jean-Pierre Marielle , uno de los grandes actores de carácter que tuvo el cine francés durante el último medio siglo. De presencia imponente, Marielle dejó entre su larguísima y fecunda trayectoria cinematográfica y escénica un papel fundamental, el del músico Jean de Sainte Colombe, el maestro de Marin Marais (Gérard Depardieu) en Todas las mañanas del mundo (1991), de Alain Corneau.
Una de las grandes cualidades que supo lucir Marielle fue su voz profunda y poderosa, desde la cual apoyaba su gran autoridad interpretativa. Supo siempre ser un gran actor de cine y por eso nunca ejercitaba su voz desde la elocuencia. Le bastaba con sostener la expresividad de esa manera, sin necesidad de mover demasiado su cuerpo. Le alcanzaba con acompañar a través de mínimos gestos esas palabras para hacer creíble cualquier personaje.
Diestro sobre todo para el drama, pero con talento suficiente como para moverse también con destreza en el mundo de la comedia, donde siempre explotó con habilidad personajes irónicos, descarados o ingenuos ocultos detrás de un rostro que algunas veces parecía inescrutable, Marielle se convirtió en el predilecto de muchos realizadores destacados. De la mano de Philippe de Broca, por ejemplo, se lució a lo largo de los años 60 en títulos como Los amores de un pícaro, El diablo por el rabo y Para ella el mundo. Compartió también en esa década con su contemporáneo Jean Paul Belmondo dos grandes comedias de Jean Becker: Oro, brillantes y muerte y El adorable canalla.
Después se sumó a varias películas que dejaron huella en el cine galo y europeo de las décadas siguientes: Sin motivo aparente, de Philippe Labro, y Cuatro moscas sobre terciopelo gris, de Dario Argento, ambas de 1971; Vestido de fiesta (1986), de Bertrand Blier; Max y Jeremie (1992), de Claire Devers, y sobre todo la extraordinaria Un día contigo (1987), de Claude Sautet.
Marielle fue también uno de los actores predilectos de Bertrand Tavernier, con quien hizo Que la fiesta comience (1974), Más allá de la justicia (1981) y 1280 almas (1982); y de Claude Berri, junto al cual se lució sobre todo en Uranus. Su gran papel protagónico le llegó en la madurez gracias a Patrice Leconte y El perfume de Yvonne (1994). En el final de su carrera se sumó a un éxito de Hollywood como la adaptación del best seller El código Da Vinci (2006), en cuyo tramo inicial lo vemos interpretando a Jacques Sauniére, dueño de uno de los grandes misterios alrededor de los cuales gira la trama del relato.
