Falleció en París el cantautor Angel Parra
El hijo de la recordada Violeta Parra estaba enfermo de cáncer
Ángel Parra, que además de músico y escritor comenzó a ser conocido por su madre, la gran artista chilena Violeta Parra, falleció hoy en París, víctima del cáncer que le habían detectado hace más de tres años. Tenía 73 años.
Luis Ángel Cereceda Parra había nacido en Valparaíso,el 27 de junio de 1943 y, de algún modo, siguió los pasos de su madre, al convertirse en un uno de los referentes de la nueva canción chilena. "Fue una de las grandes figuras de la diáspora chilena internacional y particularmente de la de Francia, país donde vivió desde 1976", indicó la embajada chilena en Francia, al anunciar la muerte del artista, que en su últimos momentos de vida estuvo acompañado por su esposa Ruth Valentini y por sus hijos, Javiera y Ángel.
En 1965 fue uno de los fundadores de "La Peña de los Parra", por donde pasaron muchos de los referentes de la canción testimonial en habla hispana. Luego del golpe de Estado a Salvador Allende estuvo medio año preso y, al ser liberado, se exilió, primero en México y luego en Francia, donde encontró su residencia definitiva a pesar de varios regresos a Chile, a partir de 1989. En su haber tiene cerca de 40 discos grabados, algunos de ellos junto a su hermana Isabel.
