El ex manager de los Sex Pistols falleció tras una larga lucha contra el cáncer en Suiza. Tenía 64 años.
Murió Malcolm McLaren. El empresario y manager, que se adjudicaba la creación del punk, murió en Suiza a los 64 años, víctima de una dura lucha contra el cáncer, según confirmó su mujer Young Kim.
Tras haber participado en el Mayo Francés, McLaren emigró a los Estados Unidos, donde se transformó en manager de los New Yotk Dolls. Y a su regreso a Inglaterra, junto con Vivianne Westwood fundo la tienda de ropa Sex, en donde se formaron los Sex Pistols, grupo del que también fue manager. Siempre se adjudicó la estrategia de promoción del grupo, con los dos contratos fallidos de la banda con los sellos EMI y A&M, y lo mismo con el show en pleno Río Támesis en el que la banda tocó el prohibido single "God Save The Queen" en pleno Jubileo Real.
Tras la problemática disolución de los Pistols, McLaren intentó una carrera como solista, con discos como Duck Dock (1983) y Waltz Darling (1989), y siempre fue una presencia vigente en el mundo del arte y la moda.
