La Rural tuvo ayer su "superclásico"
Se eligió a los grandes campeones de las razas Aberdeen Angus, Polled Hereford, Holando Argentino y equina Criolla
Como si fuera la final de un campeonato mundial de fútbol, donde el nerviosismo, las cábalas y hasta las promesas hechas sobre la hora prevalecen entre sus protagonistas y aun entre los espectadores, la Exposición Rural de Palermo vivió ayer su momento culminante con la consagración de los grandes campeones machos de las razas bovinas Aberdeen Angus y Polled Hereford, las principales especies que pueblan los campos de la Argentina.
Pero hay una diferencia. Mientras el torneo deportivo mantiene tensos a sus participantes durante 90 minutos o algo más, en la fiesta ganadera hay que esperar por lo menos seis horas hasta que el jurado de cada raza conforma la fila de machos de donde finalmente elige el máximo galardón.
Ayer ingresaron en Palermo 79.000 personas. En total, desde su apertura el 21 del actual ya la recorrieron 427.000 visitantes.
"Estoy muy contento; llegamos con un toro de gran nivel y calidad", dijo a LA NACION Alberto Guil, propietario de Delfinagro SA, firma que obtuvo con su cabaña Las Blancas, ubicada en la ciudad bonaerense de Azul, el Gran Campeón Macho Aberdeen Angus, box 525.
Ese animal, de tres años, es hijo de "Performa", que, a su vez, es el padre de la Gran Campeón Hembra de la raza consagrada anteayer.
Con esos dos premios la firma logró, por primera vez, obtener simultáneamente los dos grandes campeones de la raza en Palermo. "Tenemos un toro de una calidad bárbara", apuntó Carlos Ojea Rullán, asesor genético.
Para el jurado norteamericano Jack Ward, la consagración del mejor macho no fue una tarea sencilla. "Me he quedado sin palabras", dijo poco antes del veredicto. El Reservado Gran Campeón Macho Aberdeen Angus fue el box 457, del expositor Estancia Don Carlos SA, cabaña Don Carlos, de la ciudad bonaerense de Ayacucho.
Los Polled Hereford
A tono con el fervor que reinaba en la pista, la raza Polled Hereford también consagró a su Gran Campeón Macho, que resultó ser el box 1069, de los expositores Juan Carlos Sagarzazu, dueño de la cabaña Jotace, Carlos Reyes Terrabusi, de Terragarba SA, y Jorge Blanco Villegas, de Huaca Curu. "Este es un toro muy carnicero, lo que busca la raza", subrayó Sagarzazu.
Cerca de él, Reyes Terrabusi agregó: "No es común tener esta suerte; este animal (nacido en octubre de 2002) nos gusta mucho". Aparte de los propietarios del macho, Ariel Barcelona y Hugo Acosta, asesor y cabañero, respectivamente, tampoco pudieron contener su alegría. Y para expresarla no tuvieron mejor idea que abrazar a cada rato al animal. "Esto es resultado de un trabajo de años", indicó Barcelona.
El Reservado Gran Campeón Macho fue el box 1070, de los expositores DIP SA y Fernando Hernández, de La Cecilia-San Edmundo, de la ciudad de Olavarría, Buenos Aires.
Holando Argentino
En Holando Argentino, el expositor Campazú SA, de Vicente Casares, obtuvo con los boxes 194 y 181, la Gran Campeón Hembra y Reservado Gran Campeón Hembra, respectivamente.
En tanto, el box 28, de Ana, Juan y María Felissia, de La Magdalena, de la ciudad santafecina de Rafaela, ganó el Gran Campeón Macho Holando Argentino, en tanto que el expositor Vicente Guillermo Diamante se quedó con el Reservado Gran Campeón Macho, box 31.
En ese contexto, en rechazo a la reciente suba del 5 al 15% de las retenciones a los lácteos, criadores de la raza le pusieron cucardas y crespones negros a sus mejores ejemplares hembras y soltaron globos de igual color al costado de una de las tribunas en el mismo instante en que el subsecretario de Agricultura de la Nación, Javier de Urquiza, participaba de la consagración de las hembras.
"Las retenciones son un despropósito; son un freno a un sector que estaba creciendo", dijo Máximo Russ, presidente de la Asociación Argentina Criadores de Holando Argentino (ACHA), entidad que agrupa a los productores de la principal raza lechera.
Por el lado de la tradicional raza equina Criolla también hubo consagraciones. En este sentido, el box 2045, de los expositores Felipe J. Ballester y Hortensia B. de Ballester, de la localidad bonaerense de Yutuyaco, ganó el Gran Campeón Macho, y el box 2073, de Silvia G. de Matteucci, obtuvo el Reservado Gran Campeón Macho.
En hembras, el box 2166, del expositor Marta T. de Ballester, de La Valentina, de la ciudad de Pellegrini, provincia de Buenos Aires, salió Gran Campeón Hembra Criolla, en tanto que el box 2090, de Felipe J. Ballester y Hortensia B. de Ballester se consagró Reservado Gran Campeón.
