Catelejo. Aceras y bisturí
Las aceras de Buenos Aires no son seguras. No me refiero a los asaltos sino a las porteñas baldosas. Los ciudadanos (no soy el único) nos preguntamos qué pasión malsana tienen las autoridades por esos cuadrados traicioneros, mal colocados, separados más que unidos, por desniveles en los que el zapato se engancha y el peatón tropieza.
En esta capital, creo no haber visto nunca baldosas que, por su belleza, justifiquen la insistencia municipal. Recuerdo el placer que me causó caminar a los 9 años, en 1955, por el motivo ondulado en blanco y negro de los mosaicos de la avenida Atlántica, en Río de Janeiro, diseño del arquitecto Roberto Burle Marx. Walt Disney lo mostró en su film animado Saludos amigos, de 1942, compuesto por cuatro episodios que transcurren en América Latina. En el último, “Aquarela do Brasil”, aparecen el característico dibujo de la avenida Atlántica y Donald, que toma una cachaça.
Curioso: muchas de las letales y desabridas veredas de Buenos Aires son rotas varias veces al año por distintas razones. Ya que no son hermosas, ¿no podrían ser reemplazadas por algo menos costoso y frágil, aunque sea igual de aburrido? ¿Qué misterio encierra ese “lujo”? ¿A quién beneficia? ¿Sólo a cirujanos?.
