14 mayo (Reuters) - Las acciones estadounidenses subían el viernes, con ganancias generalizadas mientras los inversores evaluaban las perspectivas de recuperación económica después de que el temor a un prolongado periodo de inflación elevada provocó una semana de operaciones volátiles.
* A las 1447 GMT, el Promedio Industrial Dow Jones ganaba 227,01 puntos, o un 0,68%, a 34.254,88 unidades; el índice S&P 500 subía 44,57 puntos, o un 1,08%, a 4.157,36 unidades; y el Nasdaq Composite sumaba 222,89 puntos, o un 1,71%, a 13.247,24 unidades.
* Los futuros recortaban algunas ganancias tras conocerse datos que mostraron que las ventas minoristas en Estados Unidos se estancaron de forma inesperada en abril, a medida que se desvanece el impulso de los cheques de estímulo.
* Los principales índices de Wall Street se encaminan a su mayor desplome semanal desde febrero después de que datos de inflación superiores a lo esperado, señales de escasez laboral y precios de las materias primas más elevados esta semana aumentaron las apuestas sobre una rebaja del apoyo contra la crisis por parte de la Reserva Federal.
* Los tres índices principales pusieron fin en la víspera a una racha perdedora de tres días, tras un reporte de solicitudes de subvenciones por desempleo mejor de lo esperado.
* Los principales sectores del S&P subían, liderados por el energético mientras los precios del crudo avanzaban.
* Las acciones de crecimiento de megacapitalización se vieron golpeadas esta semana por preocupaciones sobre su elevada valoración, pero el viernes lideraban las ganancias, con avances cercanos al 1% de Apple Inc, Amazon.com Inc y Microsoft Corp y del 2% en Tesla Inc.
* Decepcionantes datos de suscripción del servicio de 'streaming' de Walt Disney Co contrarrestaron unos beneficios generales mejores de lo previsto, haciendo caer un 4,8% las acciones de la firma de entretenimiento.
