Ventas de maíz 21/22 en argentina se aceleran a total de 20,7 mln t: oficial
BUENOS AIRES, 5 abr (Reuters) - Los agricultores de Argentina llevan vendidos 20,7 millones de toneladas de maíz del ciclo 2021/22, luego de que se registrasen transacciones en una semana por 1,2 millones de toneladas, informó el martes el Ministerio de Agricultura, en un reporte con datos actualizados hasta el 30 de marzo.
El ritmo de ventas de uno de los principales cultivos de Argentina entre el 23 y el 30 de marzo duplicó el registrado durante el mismo período en la campaña previa, que había sido de 631.600 toneladas, en momentos en que el conflicto bélico entre Rusia y Ucrania recorta la oferta global del grano.
Argentina es el segundo exportador mundial de maíz y sus agricultores están en las etapas iniciales de la recolección del cereal 2021/22, cuya cosecha la Bolsa de Cereales de Buenos Aires (BdeC) estima en 49 millones de toneladas.
El Gobierno argentino fijó a fines del año pasado un límite a las exportaciones de maíz del ciclo 2021/22, de 41,6 millones de toneladas, para intentar controlar los elevados precios domésticos de los alimentos.
Con respecto a la soja 2021/22, los agricultores argentinos llevan vendidos 12 millones de toneladas de la oleaginosa, cuya cosecha también comenzó recientemente, según el Gobierno. En la misma fecha de la campaña pasada, el volumen de ventas había sido de 13,3 millones de toneladas.
La BdeC estimó la producción de soja de la actual campaña en 42 millones de toneladas.
Las divisas provenientes de las exportaciones agrícolas son fundamentales para la golpeada economía de Argentina, que en 2021 logró recuperarse después de tres años de recesión, agravada por los efectos de la pandemia en 2020. (Reporte de Agustín Geist; Editado por Maximilian Heath)
