Muere palestino por disparos del ejército israelí en Cisjordania (ministerio palestino)
Un palestino murió el sábado en el norte de Cisjordania ocupada por disparos de soldados israelíes, indicó el ministerio palestino de Salud.
Se trataría de Rabi Arafah Rabi, de 32 años, alcanzado en un puesto de control por "una bala en la cabeza" en el sudeste de la ciudad palestina de Qalqilyah.
Contactado por la AFP, el ejército israelí no se pronunció inmediatamente sobre lo ocurrido.
Este incidente se produce en un contexto de incremento de las tensiones entre fuerzas de seguridad israelíes y palestinos, especialmente en Cisjordania y Jerusalén Este, territorios ocupados por Israel desde 1967.
La policía israelí el sábado anunció horas antes que un israelí había sido gravemente herido en un ataque con cuchillo en Jerusalén Este.
Según los medios israelíes, el herido era un judío ortodoxo en la veintena.
La policía indicó que el sospechoso había huido pero poco después anunció que lo había "neutralizado", sin informar de su estado, en el barrio palestino de Sheij Jarrah.
La violencia ha aumentado en los últimos meses en el norte de Cisjordania, especialmente en las zonas de Naplusa y Yenín, bastión de grupos armados donde el ejército israelí multiplicó sus operaciones tras una serie de ataques mortales contra israelíes en marzo y abril.
Estas operaciones han dejado más de 100 muertos entre los palestinos, el peor balance en Cisjordania en los últimos siete años, según la ONU.
