México aprueba reforma sobre el salario mínimo
Ciudad de méxico, 9 oct (reuters) - el senado de méxico aprobó por unanimidad una reforma constitucional que garantiza que el salario mínimo se revisará anualmente para que aumente al menos en la misma cuantía que la inflación.
¿por qué es importante?
Alrededor de cuatro de cada diez mexicanos ganan el salario mínimo o menos, y esta reforma pretende fijar un mínimo para los aumentos salariales anuales, después de que el Gobierno del anterior presidente, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, respaldó algunos de los aumentos salariales más altos en décadas.
Su sucesora, la presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum, ha prometido que buscará realizar aumentos anuales del salario mínimo de alrededor del 12%.
Contexto
La reforma, que ya fue aprobada en la Cámara de Diputados, fue propuesta por López Obrador antes de dejar el cargo. El Congreso está trabajando actualmente en una larga lista de reformas constitucionales enviadas por López Obrador, que incluían una polémica reforma judicial que se aprobó el mes pasado.

El salario mínimo en la segunda economía de América Latina se sitúa actualmente en 248.93 pesos (12.80 dólares) por día.
Sheinbaum ha dicho que su Gobierno trabajará para aumentar gradualmente el salario mínimo para que represente 2.5 canastas básicas, frente a las 1.6 actuales.

"El salario de las y los mexicanos no volverá a ser víctima de la inflación", afirmó el senador del partido gobernante, Oscar Cantón. "Urge un México donde el salario mínimo nunca más sea una condena a la pobreza", añadió.

La reforma será enviada ahora a las legislaturas estatales para su votación y se espera que sea aprobada por mayoría.
