Lluvias impulsan siembra de maíz en argentina: bolsa cereales
BUENOS AIRES, 17 oct (Reuters) - Las lluvias reportadas en los últimos días en Argentina le dieron un impulso a la siembra del maíz 2024/25, que hasta hace poco avanzaba con dificultades a la falta de humedad reinante en muchas zonas, dijo el jueves la Bolsa de Cereales de Buenos Aires (BdeC) en su reporte semanal de cultivos.
Argentina es el tercer exportador mundial de maíz y según la Bolsa el país cosecharía 47 millones de toneladas en la actual campaña, producto de un área sembrada de 6,3 millones de hectáreas.
"(Las provincias) de Santa Fe, Entre Ríos y el noroeste de Buenos Aires tuvieron avances significativos durante los últimos siete días y se espera que en los próximos se pueda avanzar aún más con las labores", dijo la BdeC, que señaló que los agricultores llevan sembrado el 24,3% del área prevista.
Con respecto al trigo 2024/25, cuya producción estima en 18,6 millones de toneladas, la Bolsa dijo que las lluvias recientes benefician el desarrollo de las plantas, aunque detalló que en el centro y sudeste de Buenos Aires se necesitan más precipitaciones.
La cosecha del trigo comenzará en las próximas semanas en Argentina.
A su vez, si bien las lluvias de los últimos días fueron una buena noticia para los agricultores argentinos, la Bolsa dijo el miércoles que una combinación de factores climáticos podrían resultar en una primavera y verano austral con niveles de lluvias inferiores a las habituales.
