WASHINGTON, 21 sep (Reuters) - El Departamento de Comercio de Estados Unidos propondría el lunes prohibir el software y hardware chinos en los vehículos conectados y autónomos en las carreteras del país debido a preocupaciones de seguridad nacional, dijeron fuentes a Reuters.
El Gobierno del presidente Joe Biden expresó su profunda preocupación por la recopilación de datos por parte de empresas chinas sobre conductores e infraestructura estadounidense, así como por la posible manipulación extranjera de los vehículos conectados.
La normativa propuesta prohibiría la importación y venta de vehículos procedentes de China con software o hardware de comunicaciones clave o sistemas de conducción automatizada.
La cartera planea proponer hacer las prohibiciones sobre el software efectivo en el modelo 2027 y las prohibiciones sobre el hardware entraría en vigor en enero de 2029.
