Argelia y Rusia buscan reforzar su cooperación militar
Argelia y Rusia hablaron el lunes del fortalecimiento de su cooperación militar durante una visita del secretario del Consejo de seguridad ruso Nikolai Patrushev a Argel, informó el Ministerio argelino de Defensa.
El responsable ruso se reunió con el jefe del Estado Mayor del ejército argelino Said Chanegriha y ambos discutieron del "estado de cooperación militar entre los ejércitos de ambos países y de las maneras de fortalecerlo", según un comunicado del ministerio.
La visita "representa, para nosotros, la expresión de la voluntad firme y franca que anima a los dos países para reforzar aún más la asociación estratégica e histórica que caracteriza sus relaciones bilaterales, en particular en el ámbito de la cooperación militar", declaró Chanegriha .
Patrushev, citado en el comunicado, afirmó por su parte que su país trataba de "reforzar aún más" las relaciones entre Argelia y Rusia.
El presidente argelino, Abdelmayid Tebún, quien visitará Rusia en mayo, recibió a Patrushev durante su visita, según imágenes difundidas por la televisión pública.
Argelia y Rusia mantienen relaciones privilegiadas desde hace tiempo. En 2021, el comercio entre ambos países alcanzó los 3.000 millones de dólares, a pesar de la pandemia de covid-19.
Además, Moscú es un importante proveedor de armas a Argelia.
